Gasthof Lichtenhainer Wasserfall in Kirnitzschtal

The hotel and restaurant is run by a very friendly, courteous team. After a long hike with persistent rain, a warming thick soup was waiting for us. The menu was perfect. The ambience is homely. Many, many thanks to the owner and team for this location, especially in the difficult times of corona regulations !!

Very tasty food and a cozy atmosphere. We come here every time we are in the region. The home-smoked trout is particularly recommended.

A very tasty gastronomy where you can tell that it is freshly prepared with a lot of love. Despite the full restaurant, the reaction to allergies and a small, hungry child's mouth was great. After only 10 minutes the children's meal was on the table. We had a wild boar steak medium fried in a slightly sweet sauce with fried parsnips and pumpkin gnocci. A poem. Thanks again.

Very delicious food, the breakfast buffet was sufficient and very good. Corona measures can still be expanded. Our room was clean but very small. Bathroom could be better lit.

We, 2 adults and a child, stayed for 3 nights at the beginning of October and felt very comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We also liked the beautiful location of the guest house (because it is great for hiking). The breakfast buffet is plentiful and the food in the restaurant is tasty and recommendable. Unfortunately we got a somewhat worn room, but it was clean. For our short vacation we found it okay, but with a longer duration we would have complained about the "deficiencies" (sagging mattress, broken cupboard door).

At this point I am NOT evaluating the dishes (which incidentally were not objectionable), but the invitation to unfair competition on the receipt: Quote: "Please rate us positively below lichtenhainer-wasserfall.evaluation4app.de or follow the barcode With 4 or 5 star ratings you will receive a discount of 20% on your next visit, upon presentation of proof. Many thanks." THAT IS NOT HOW IT WORKS!!! This way, a potential guest gets a completely wrong picture and is deliberately fooled by the operators. Guests then give better ratings to get the discount next time they visit. Avarice and stupidity are cool and also a beautiful couple ... False facts, distorting mirror mentality. Too bad.

Rooms were quite small but clean and ok. The floor in the old house creaked very badly. Food was good, location nice. But the tram was pretty noisy

We ate here after a ride on the Kirnitzschtalbahn. The staff is very friendly and quick. We were particularly pleasantly surprised by the great focus on small children. In the bathroom there is an extra changing table with wet wipes and diapers. There is also a seat for toddlers and the Hipp glass was warmed up and served with an extra bowl for filling. The food there is very tasty and reasonably priced. We would love to come back!

Quite rude and arrogant staff at the takeaway. Even when there is a lot going on, you should still be friendly and take time for the customers - unfortunately, both are missing here. We really felt like we were bothering the staff with our concern. Had we not been so hungry, we would have gone somewhere else a few meters away.

The place is well located, have a nice atmosphere with the charming little waterfall, but... it was really frustrating the way a young lady took our order! After ordering something announced in an ad at the place, we heard a very impolite / slight / rude / disrespectfull "wo steht das???" from her. I don't really like to give bad reviews, usually in these cases I just don't give a review at all, but that was far too much to go over quietly...

We went from Bad Schandau with the Kirnitzschtalbahn to the Lichtenhain waterfall and stopped at this restaurant. The food was so delicious, we were blown away. The tastes are known to be different, but my husband and our grandson were also delighted. From there you can hike to the cowshed and take the train back in a relaxed way.

Very centrally located. The Kirntzsch is right next to it. And a tram that meanders through the valley and goes to Bad Schandau. The hike can begin right at the hotel.

Nice beer garden to linger after a hike. The signs and the area at the food counter seem a bit unkind, but the dining room is very nice. Overall good.

Great location for trekking, fantastic service and superb meals.

Men like the big portions of food that are served at this place. I would have liked less quantity but better quality. The cake was nice, the coffee was bland and bitter. Service a bit slow and understaffed, so we waited a while to settle the bill.

Delicious dishes in big portions. Tasty beer. Nice and helpful staff, good service. Decent price/value ratio. Free wifi. Play garden for the children. If you sit outside, across the street, on the terrace you can enjoy the nostalgic street view and the beautiful natural environment. The only downside is the traffic can get really loud and smoky on busy weekend days. Unfortunately smoking is also allowed everywhere. I still recommend having a lunch or a dinner in this charming place.

Restaurant rustic, decorated in hunting ambience. There were a lot of guests for lunch and the two waitresses did their best. Unfortunately we had to wait quite a long time, but the food was homemade, fresh and extremely delicious, even the homemade lemonade is highly recommended. We will definitely be back ??

The rooms were clean but very basic. They looked a bit old. Breakfast and dinner were good. The staff was kind and helpfully.

Well-run restaurant & guesthouse in a very scenic location. Recommendation of the day ... ?Trout miller .... ?, was very tasty ? Great starting point for hikes to the cowshed, the Schrammsteinen and along the Kirnitzsch to the Neumannmühle. And of course a lot more!

The Kirnitschtal with the tram and the Lichtenheiner waterfall is a must. From there on foot to the cowshed 0.5 hours worth it to go up. If you still have air, climb the ladder on the rocks.

Big Restaurant and easily accessible with parking nearby. Little giftshop and tram station stop near. The waterfall flows in 30 min interval.

Wonderful location but we wanted lunch and something other than sausages and potatoes so we ended up going into Bad Schandau for a healthy salad.

Worst place ever. Racist staff. Even cannot handle a phone call. The moment when you speak english, they cold cancel the call. Not the kind of people who should exist in hospitality business. Can go to other better places than here if you are looking for a peaceful vacation!
